Tom Brady texted Jimmy Garoppolo following ACL injury: 'I just told him he will be back better than ever'

Despite being on opposite coasts, Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo remain close.

Following Garoppolo suffering a torn ACL Sunday, Brady texted the 49ers quarterback Monday to wish him well.

"Yeah, I did text him," Brady told Jim Gray on Westwood One Radio prior to Monday Night Football. "I just told him he will be back better than ever. It is a tough injury. I have been through it. I have seen obviously so many teammates over the years go through that injury. It is very prevalent in football for one reason or another and it is a tough injury. It is a tough rehab. He is a tough guy. They are pretty good at that surgery these days, so he will be back soon and he will be back ready for next year I'm sure."

Garoppolo suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Chiefs when his knee buckled.
