FOXBORO -- As training camps open across the league, this has been the week of Jimmy Garoppolo.
On Monday, Bleacher Report published an extensive feature on the 49ers quarterback and then on Tuesday Sports Illustrated did the same. In the SI piece, it was reported Bill Belichick texted his former quarterback after every 49ers win last season.
At his press conference Wednesday, the coach was asked if it was true and in predictable fashion, Belichick didn't really address it.
"Those are things that happened months ago, and honestly I'm not too focused on October, November, December 2017. Trying to get our team ready for training camp. That's where I'm at," Belichick said. "I'm not going to engage in stuff that's happened eight months ago. We could talk about a million things that happened 20 years ago. I'm not there."
New England traded Garoppolo at the deadline last season to the 49ers in exchange for a second-round pick.
