The Patriots placed Josh Gordon on injured reserve with a knee injury on Wednesday, but that doesn't mean he's done for the year.
According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, Gordon expects to return to full health in 1-2 weeks and then the Patriots plan on releasing the wide receiver.
If this happens following Tuesday's trade deadline, Gordon will have to go through waivers and would not just become a free agent.
Gordon suffered a knee injury against the Giants in Week 6 and then missed last week's game against the Jets.
In six games this season, Gordon has totaled 20 catches for 287 yards and one touchdown.
