Following rumor after rumor over the last few days, Josh McDaniels is officially the new head coach of the Colts.
There were reports over the weekend that McDaniels was having second thoughts about accepting the job, which started speculation that perhaps there was something up with Bill Belichick. McDaniels didn't do any favors when he wouldn't speak about it Sunday night, but on Tuesday morning the Colts announced he is their new head coach.
This basically confirms Belichick will be back coaching next season, and now the team needs to find a new offensive coordinator.
It would seem wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea is the leader in the clubhouse, but assistant quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski could get consideration and an outside-the-box option could be director of player personnel Nick Caserio, who is very involved with the team and the offense.
