FOXBOROUGH -- Thursday night was a unique night for Tom Brady, as the 42-year-old finished with seven rushing attempts, tied for the third-most in his career.
With Rex Burkhead out and Sony Michel struggling in short-yardage, Brady took matters into his own hands calling his own number on a number of third-and-short plays, as well as on the goal-line. The quarterback got into the end zone twice on 1-yard quarterback keepers in the 35-14 win over the Giants.
After the game, Julian Edelman had high praise for his quarterback.
“Yeah, it’s awesome," he said. "He’s like the best QB sneaker I’ve ever seen. He’s the GOAT of QB sneaking.”
Brady now has 1,007 rushing yards for his career.
Edelman was also made aware of the nickname for the Patriots' linebackers, "Boogeymen."
“That’s awesome," he said. "I didn’t know. That’s pretty cool. That whole defensive group, they are doing some special things. They are studs.”
The Patriots defense had another huge night finishing with three interceptions, a fumble return for a touchdown and also a punt block returned for a touchdown.
The unit is by far the best in the NFL right now.
