FOXBORO -- Even though it was just an OTA session, seeing Julian Edelman running and cutting on the field was a good sign.

The wide receiver suffered a torn ACL in the preseason last year and missed the entire season, but since it happened so early, he was able to make a full recovery before the voluntary offseason workout program began this spring.

"It's been amazing," Duron Harmon said following Tuesday's session. "Little squirrel. His competitiveness. Him getting back out there. Having him out there, he brings leadership to this team. He brings excitement to this team and an aggressive nature to this team. Any time you have him out here, he makes the team better."

Edelman, who was celebrating his 32nd birthday, left for the lower grass field roughly halfway through the session, but it seemed to be more of a maintenance thing and nothing to be concerned with.
