The MLB and the MLBPA continue to go back-and-forth when it comes to an agreement for the 2020 season.

It's been going on for weeks with both sides refusing to budge much at all.

Sirius XM's Chris "Mad Dog" Russo joined Ordway, Merloni & Fauria Thursday and got into a debate with Lou Merloni over it.

"What I am saying are the two people in the room (Rob Manfred and Tony Clark), one has already gotten approval from the owners to make this offer. They already agreed to it. Tony Clark has to listen to him and then go to his group with the proposal. That is what happened and Manfred muddied the waters to make it look like an agreement," Merloni said.

“Who is the leader of the Players Association? What is Manfred supposed to do? Bring every agent into the room and ask if it’s OK," Russo shot back.

Merloni said Clark cannot make a decision without consulting his players, but Russo disagreed.

“Yes, he can. He’s the leader," he said. "… Manfred went to Phoenix with the framework of what he could offer and made a deal — the framework of a deal because Manfred has the power to make the decision for the owners.”

"Let me just flip it, let’s say Tony Clark comes with an offer from the players they are willing to accept to Manfred, you don’t think Manfred isn’t going to say, ‘Hold on, I have to talk to my owners?’” Merloni asked.

“He’s not going to sign off on the deal first," Russo said.

Merloni doesn't think they signed off on a deal this week, but Russo does.

"Yes, they did. Yes, they did. They signed off on the framework of a deal, they sure did," he said.
