It looks like the Celtics will get Marcus Smart back before the start of the second round of the playoffs.
According to Yahoo! Sports' Shams Charania, Smart had a reevaluation on his torn UCL in his right thumb Monday in New York and he is expected to receive clearance to return to game action at the six-week mark of surgery (April 27). Also, Smart has been cleared to start light non-contact shooting.
Looking ahead to the playoff schedule, it would appear April 27 will be at the very end of a first-round series, so it appears if the Celtics advance they will get Smart back for the second round.
Smart hasn't played in a game since March 11.
The Celtics have two games left in the regular season.
