The Patriots' special teams captain is back.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Matthew Slater has signed a two-year deal to return to the Patriots.
The 32-year-old has been with New England since 2008 so he seemed like a lock to return, but reportedly took a visit to Pittsburgh over the weekend, which was a bit of a surprise.
Slater has made the Pro Bowl seven times over the course of his career.
Even though he's just a special teams player, he's viewed as one of the biggest leaders the Patriots have.
