Major League Baseball has made its decision with how it intends on dealing with coronavirus.
In a press release, the league has canceled the rest of spring training and will delay the start of the regular season by at least two weeks due to the national emergency created by the coronavirus pandemic. The regular season was scheduled to begin on March 26.
Guidance to the teams with how to move forward will be given in the coming days, but as of 4 p.m. all games are canceled.
MLB has been discussing contingency plans relating to the schedule and "will announce the effects on the schedule at an appropriate time and will remain flexible as events warrant, with the hope of resuming normal operations as soon as possible."
