The Red Sox have been connected to a number of relievers available as the trade deadline approaches, but here are a few new names.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, in addition to Zach Britton of the Orioles, the Red Sox are focused on San Diego relievers Craig Stammen and Kirby Yates.

Stammen, 34, is 4-1 with a 2.76 ERA in 44 games this season. The right-hander is in his second season with the Padres after spending the first seven seasons of his career in Washington. He's signed through the end of next season.

Yates, who is 31, has a record of 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA this season in 40 games. He's also struck out 50 hitters in 38 2/3 innings. The right-hander is eligible for arbitration after this season. He's played for four teams in his five-year MLB career.

If these players are indeed available, they may be better options than some other names that have been mentioned. It's worth noting Dave Dombrowski has swung trades with the Padres in the past.
