INDIANAPOLIS -- Following the Super Bowl, one of the lingering questions surrounding the Patriots was whether or not offensive tackle Nate Solder would play in 2018.
There were rumors the free agent tackle could retire at age 29, but now three weeks later, that doesn't appear to be happening.
According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Solder intends to continue playing football, although contract negotiations haven't started with the Patriots.
New England will likely make Solder one of its top priorities this offseason, as there are no real replacements for him on the roster. When it comes to protecting Tom Brady's backside, it needs to be taken seriously.
Solder has spent all of his eight seasons in the NFL with the Patriots and has maintained a lot of great relationships both with the organization and in the community. It seems hard to imagine him playing for another team.
