On top of the regular-season schedule, the NFL also released the preseason schedule Thursday night, but without dates.
Here's what the Patriots' preseason slate will look like next summer.
Week 1: Aug. 13-17 vs. LionsWeek 2: Aug. 20-24 vs. PanthersWeek 3: Aug. 27-30 at EaglesWeek 4: Sept. 3-4 at Giants
If, and it is a big if at this point, there are joint practices, they seem like a good possibility prior to at least one of the preseason games.
The Lions almost seem like a lock given how close Bill Belichick and Matt Patricia are, and would make for a fun week at Gillette Stadium with so many former Patriots in Detroit. Another possibility is the Eagles, which has been done before. All four of these teams the Patriots have faced in the preseason multiple times over the years.
