FOXBORO -- Monday is the 25th anniversary of Robert Kraft buying the Patriots.
Bill Belichick has been with the team for 19 of those years as head coach plus another as assistant head coach under Bill Parcells, so when speaking Friday at Gillette Stadium, he was asked what Kraft has meant to him and the team.
"We have a good setup here," he said. "He's been very supportive. He gives us great opportunity to go out and compete every week. We've done that. Hope we can continue that for a long time."
Kraft has been one of the most successful owners in the entire league.
He has nine conference championships, which are the most by an owner in the Super Bowl era. Pat Bowlen with Denver is second with seven.
Furthermore, the Patriots have made the playoffs 26 times in their 59-year history and 20 of those have come in the 25 seasons since Kraft purchased the team.
