While many of the Patriots coaching staff changes were assumed, especially after many of them met with the media this spring, they became official Tuesday with the release of the 2019 media guide.
Here's what the coaching staff looks like for 2019.
Head coach- Bill Belichick
Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks- Josh McDanielsAssistant quarterbacks- Mick LombardiRunning backs- Ivan FearsAssistant running backs- Cole PopovichWide receivers (also special teams coordinator)- Joe JudgeTight ends- Nick CaleyOffensive line- Dante Scarnecchia
Defensive line- Bret BielemaDirector of skill development- Joe KimOutside linebackers- DeMarcus Covington Inside linebackers- Jerod MayoCornerbacks- Mike PellegrinoSecondary, safeties- Steve Belichick
Special teams coordinator (also wide receivers)- Joe JudgeAssistant special teams- Cam Achord
Coaching assistant- Brian BelichickCoaching assistant- Carmen BricilloCoaching assistant- Bob Fraser
There aren't too many surprises here, especially after what was already known when the coaches met with the media in May. On offensive, Popovich moves from the offensive line to running backs and Judge does not have an assistant wide receivers coach, although Troy Brown is reportedly sticking around for training camp after helping out in the spring. Defensively, Steve Belichick has secondary listed on his title in addition to just safeties. Fraser, who came along with Greg Schiano, is staying on staff even after the former Ohio State defensive coordinator left the organization for personal reasons in March after a few weeks on the job.
