Could the successor to Tom Brady have been in Foxboro on Wednesday?
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, two potential first round quarterbacks visited the Patriots on Wednesday in West Virginia's Will Grier and Duke's Daniel Jones. The report also notes the team has been doing its homework on quarterbacks in this year's draft.
These players could potentially both go in the first round and in that case the Patriots would need to trade up, but one could potentially fall and that may be where the team sees the value.
Jones has been connected to the team in a ton of mock drafts. He didn't put up the best numbers at Duke, but he didn't exactly have the best supporting cast. As for Grier, he spoke a ton about the Patriots at the combine and how West Virginia used a lot of Patriots elements in its offense.
Brady still hasn't signed an extension so is only under contract through the end of 2019.
