FOXBORO -- Next season will likely be a challenge for Joe Judge.
The 37-year-old is not only the Patriots special teams coach, but he's also added coaching wide receivers to his duties.
Coaching any position for the Patriots is a challenge, but even more so two. But, if anyone can handle it it seems to be Judge, as speaking Tuesday at Gillette Stadium kicker Stephen Gostkowski indicated Judge has the work ethic to do it.
“Joe does a great job,” Gostkowski said. “Joe works hard. I don’t know if Joe ever leaves the building. I think he’s going to do a great job handling both. With special teams, you’re used to handling a lot of stuff and moving parts with everyone on the team anyway. I’m wishing him good luck, and I don’t think it will change the way that we interact.”
It is worth noting Judge has an assistant with special teams in Cameron Achord, who is in his second season with the team and seemed to impress many during his first year.
Wide receiver may be the more challenging role, especially with all the newcomers at the position.
