The Patriots held their first OTA session of the spring on Monday and although the media wasn't present (that changes Thursday), the team published a short video to social media.
While not much was shown, there were a few takeaways.
-- Rookies do not have normal numbers for the second straight spring. The numbers start at 50 and go up from there based on when players were selected (First-rounder, N'Keal Harry-50, second-rounder Joejuan Williams- 51, etc.). If this follows the same trend as last year, the rookies won't get their real numbers until the first preseason game.
-- Patrick Chung was present following breaking his arm in the Super Bowl and reportedly having offseason shoulder surgery. This was a bit of a surprise, so apparently his recovery went faster than expected.
-- Third-round pick Chase Winovich had a wrap on his right hand, which isn't all that shocking considering he had a cast on his thumb when he was drafted.
-- As expected, there was no sign of Tom Brady.
