FOXBORO — The Patriots are taking it easy with their soon-to-be 42-year-old quarterback.
While Brady was on the field for the second day of training camp, he did not participate. He observed the entire session in street clothes, although he did throw lightly and help out the equipment staff with a few of the quarterback drills.
This shouldn't be viewed as a huge deal, but it is certainly worth noting. Saturday will be the first session held in full pads and all indications are he will be out there participating.
Brady wasn't the only player not practicing. Like Thursday, David Andrews and Michael Bennett weren't present.
Also, the following players were present, but did not participate: Nate Ebner (PUP), Sony Michel (PUP), Demaryius Thomas (PUP), Cole Croston (PUP), Ken Webster, Julian Edelman (NFI), Yodney Cajuste (NFI).
Defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. returned, but wasn't active.
