Even though the team was off Tuesday, the Patriots still made a roster move.
The Patriots announced that they have signed veteran offensive lineman Brian Schwenke and released undrafted rookie tight end Shane Wimann.
Schwenke has played in 57 NFL games with 30 starts, including 25 starts at center and five at left guard. It would appear the Patriots feel like they needed some veteran depth on the interior line, likely in case of injury to one of their top players.
The Patriots roster remains at 90 players.
