The Patriots continue to make roster moves well into the spring.

On Monday, the team re-signed defensive lineman Danny Shelton and released center Jake Eldrenkamp. The move doesn't come as a huge surprise given what the depth looks like on the defensive line and Shelton's experience with the system.

The 25-year-old visited the Bengals this offseason, but now he's back with the Patriots for his second season after he was traded to New England last offseason.

Shelton had an up-and-down year last season as he was a healthy inactive in three games (four including the AFC title game). In 13 regular-season games, he finished with 21 tackles.

Eldrenkamp was signed to a futures contract last January, but has never played in a NFL game.
