The Patriots still need a back up offensive tackle and it seems the team is doing what it can to fill the void.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Patriots hosted veteran offensive tackle Jared Veldheer for a free-agent visit on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old has played in 118 career regular-season games (113 starts) between the Raiders, Cardinals and Broncos.
As of now, the Patriots depth chart at tackle doesn't have much experience. Besides Marcus Cannon there is Isaiah Wynn, who is predicted to be the starting left tackle, and then fourth-round pick Yodny Cajuste as the swing tackle.
It would appear a veteran is needed.
