In a crazy story, Patrick Chung is part of a lawsuit after a man was fired from his job for calling Chung a [expletive] in the Super Bowl.
According to TMZ, Matthew Hogan -- who claims he knows Matthew Weymouth, the man that runs Patrick Chung's social media pages -- was fired as a Rams ticket executive after calling Chung a [expletive] during the Super Bowl when he broke his arm.
Here's how it went.
Hogan and Weymouth had some friendly banter leading up to the game, but then when Chung broke his arm, Hogan apparently sent Weymouth a text message that read: "Patrick Chung is a bitch." Weymouth then became very upset and sent Hogan a series of texts, including threats.
The lawsuit says Weymouth posted screenshots of the exchange on Chung's social media pages which made it look like Hogan was directly attacking Chung. "This is disrespectful of you. I would never wish or say anything like this to anyone after they just broke their arm. You should be ashamed bro," one of the captions read.
Hogan claims the posts are defamation because the messages were never sent directly to Chung. He was forced to leave his job and now is struggling to find work.
Now, Hogan is suing Chung, Weymouth and others for more than $1.75 million.
