The Patriots wide receiver position is fairly wide open as the team goes into training camp next week with only Julian Edelman and first-round pick N'Keal Harry as the only real locks.
One of the unknowns at the position is second-year player Braxton Berrios, who spent the entire 2018 season on injured reserve.
This should be one of the most competitive positions on the roster over the next month-plus and it seems like Berrios is doing everything in his power to give himself the best chance of making the team.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Berrios has been one of the a few players who have already shown up at Gillette Stadium, which is well ahead of the July 24 reporting date for veterans. The report notes he's been working on gaining weight and strength. One thing to keep in mind is the Miami product has punt return experience, which could give him a leg up on some other players when it comes to making the roster.
In four years at Miami, Berrios finished with 100 catches for 1,175 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Berrios will be competing with Phillip Dorsett, Demaryius Thomas, Maurice Harris, Dontrelle Inman, Matthew Slater, Jakobi Meyers, Damoun Patterson, Ryan Davis and Gunner Olszewski for a roster spot.
