FOXBORO — Even though Tom Brady didn’t participate in practice on Friday due to a maintenance day, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t involved.

The quarterback stayed active by throwing short passes, helping the equipment staff during QB drills, and then coaching up a few players here and there.

Once of those players was veteran tight end Matt LaCosse, as Brady helped him with perfecting his route-running at one point.

“Any time Tom wants to give me advice, that is fine with me,” he said. “He’s pretty good at what he does. It’s nice to have him out here and how involved he is with everybody. I think that is the best thing about it.”

LaCosse added: “He knows a lot about every position. He’s been doing this for awhile know. He knows everything.”

The veteran tight end has a very good chance of making the team, especially with Benjamin Watson suspended the first four games.
