INDIANAPOLIS -- The NFL Combine got underway on Monday, but Bill Belichick wasn't present.
That's because he was a couple hundred miles down the road at Middle Tennessee State getting a look at defensive end Tyshun Render in the rain.
Render finished last season with 49 tackles, including 10 for loss, and 3.5 sacks.
Belichick did not miss much at the combine and likely will be in town shortly, but he's getting an early start on his scouting trail.
