Report: Dolphins considering trading for Joe Thuney

Joe Thuney could be on the move this week.

It was reported over the weekend he and the Patriots are not close to a long-term extension and since he's signed under the franchise tag, he's counting for just under $15 million against the salary cap. And since the Patriots have just over $1 million in cap space right now, that needs to change.

An easy way to free up some money is to trade Thuney, which could happen this week during the NFL Draft.

According to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero, the Dolphins have considered trading for him. The 27-year-old is very dependable and has emerged as one of the best guards in the entire league.

Brian Flores and Co. has already added a few former Patriots this offseason in Elandon Roberts, Kyle Van Noy and Ted Karras.
