It appears Logan Ryan is coming back to the AFC East.
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets believe they will sign Ryan to a one-year deal.
Ryan, who is 29 years old, finished last season with 18 passes defensed (third-most in the NFL), 4.5 sacks, four interceptions, eight quarterback hits and 113 tackles with the Titans.
The cornerback signed with Tennessee following the 2016 season after spending his first four seasons in the league with the Patriots.
But, appearing on the Double Coverage podcast Sunday night with Devin and Jason McCourty, Ryan said the Titans never really made an effort to keep him this offseason as a free agent.
"I said 'Look, I'll come back for the same rate, I want to keep this thing going,' and they weren't really interested in that," Ryan said. "And that's when I kind of knew that this is a business and they're going to do what the marketplace says, they're going to do what's best, in their opinion, for the team. So that was kind of a little different, but I had to take it and do what's best for my family as well, and that's where we're at."
Ryan will give the Jets a nice boost in the secondary not only from his play, but leadership as well.
