Momentum growing for NFL league year to start on time, which means Tom Brady's decision should come in coming days

While the NBA, NHL and MLB have put their seasons on hold, it appears the NFL will march on with its offseason despite the coronavirus pandemic across the country.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the anticipation is that the start of the league year will not be moved, but there are on-going conversations and that could potentially change. He did add there's a different tone from teams, which indicates things will go on as planned this week.

Monday at noon the legal tampering period begins where free agents (technically just their representation) can begin to speak with other teams, and then Wednesday at 4 p.m. is when the new league year begins and free agents can sign wherever they choose.

This means Tom Brady likely will decide on his 2020 team in the coming days. It's been reported he isn't expected to drag out the free agent process.

With Tennessee out of the running it appears teams still in the mix are the Patriots, 49ers, Raiders, Buccaneers and Chargers. Although NBC Sports' Chris Simms said Sunday it's come down to Tampa Bay and New England.
