The Patriots will have their fourth kicker of the season Sunday night in Houston.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the team is expcted to sign Kai Forbath. It needed a new kicker after Nick Folk had an appendectomy Thursday. It's reportedly expected to be a short-term recovery, so he could miss just this one game.
The 32-year-old last kicked in the NFL for the Jaguars in 2018, but only for three games. In 2017, he kicked in all 16 games for Minnesota and was 32-for-38 on field goals and 34-for-39 on extra points.
The Patriots have already had Stephen Gostkowski and Mike Nugent kick for them this season.
A corresponding roster move will need to be made in order to get Forbath on the roster.
