Report: Patriots host Navy product for tryout who hasn't appeared in game since college in 2014

The Patriots hosted an interesting player for a tryout on Thursday.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Paul Quessenberry out of Navy was at the facility. He is now a tight end after playing defensive end in college. It's an even more interesting story as he hasn't played in a game since his senior year in 2014.

Quessenberry had a rookie tryout with the Texans in 2015, but then became an officer in the Marines. His brothers David and Scott are current NFL offensive linemen.

Bill Belichick's ties to Navy are well-documented and Patriots long-snapper Joe Cardona is currently a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

The Patriots have a few open roster spots and tight end is a position with a few spots up for grabs.
