Bill Belichick said on his pre-draft conference call earlier in the week that the Patriots have spoken with the same, if not more players than they would in a normal year even though they are stuck at home due to COVID-19.
The reason is it's easier to schedule a call opposed to traveling across the country to pro days or setting up top-30 visits.
More and more of these players have been reported on in recent days.
According to SB Nation's Jason Melo, Louisiana-Lafayette offensive lineman Robert Hunt has had a FaceTime meeting with New England.
Hunt was a four-year starter, playing guard his first two seasons before switching to right tackle. Standing 6-foot-5, 323 pounds, Hunt is projected to be a guard in the NFL and some have him rated as the best guard in this year's class.
He missed most of last season with a groin injury and because of that did not work out at the NFL Combine. He likely will be selected in Round 2 or Round 3.
While the Patriots selected lineman Yodny Cajuste and Hjalte Froholdt last year, the team could potentially use another young player at the position as it builds depth for the future.
Also, according to Steelers Depot, the team has had a video conference with NC State defensive tackle Larrell Murchison.
