Patriots trade target O.J. Howard reportedly available for right price

As of a few weeks ago, Tampa Bay tight end O.J. Howard was apparently unavailable via trade.

Perhaps, things have now changed.

According to ESPN's Jenna Laine, the Buccaneers would be open to trading the tight end for a substantial offer. It's unclear what that means, but maybe it's a first-round pick.

Howard is still on his rookie deal, so he would only count roughly $1.5 million against the cap, which is doable for the Patriots.

The 24-year-old did not play this week due to a hamstring injury, and hasn't really been featured much in the offense this season. He only has 13 receptions for 176 yards on the year.

Tight end certainly is a need for the Patriots with Benjamin Watson, Eric Tomlinson, Ryan Izzo and Matt LaCosse on the depth chart.
