Patriots, Buccaneers reportedly discussing trade with Rob Gronkowski, as TE wants to unretire to play with Tom Brady

Well, this is interesting.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Rob Gronkowski has told the Patriots that he's interested in playing football again, but with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. The Patriots hold his rights, so in order for this to happen the two teams would have to work out a trade, or the Patriots could release him, but that doesn't seem likely.

ESPN's Adam Schefter adds Tampa Bay and New England have started talking about a potential trade ahead of the NFL Draft this weekend.

Tampa Bay does have two tight ends in O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate, so perhaps one of them is involved in the trade. It's also likely draft picks would be involved, as well.

Gronkowski has been on record for years now saying how much he loved playing with Brady, but has seemed happy in retirement. He has one year and $10 million left on his contract.

"The day that I retired, within 24 hours there was already rumors that I was coming out of retirement," he said on "Watch What Happens Live" with Andy Cohen Monday night. "I'm feeling good right now, I'm happy where I'm at, and you just never know, man. You just never know. You never know. I'm not totally done, I like to stay in shape, but I've got to get that feeling back."

Apparently he has that feeling.
