When it comes to Tom Brady's potential landing spots outsude of New England, the Titans are at the top of the list.
It makes a lot of sense given how close they are to winning a Super Bowl, as well as Brady's connection to head coach Mike Vrabel. But, according to one recent report that may actually be an argument against Brady joining the Titans.
ESPN's Dianna Russini believes the Titans may prefer Ryan Tannehill over Brady.
“I think at this point right now, Tennessee is trying to work a deal out with Ryan Tannehill," she said Tuesday on 'Get Up.' "This is a quarterback who they believe can help them get back to the AFC championship game and possibly to the Super Bowl, which obviously is the goal for them. I think it makes sense in terms of their interest in Tom Brady and knowing the connection between Mike Vrabel and Brady and you saw the stuff on social media with the FaceTime and they obviously have a great relationship.
“I also think their relationship is a reason why they are not interested in signing Tom Brady because it makes it really complicated. They are going to have to have real, man-to-man conversations that could possibly effect their relationship as friends because of what they want to do on the field. I think at this point Ryan Tannehill will be the future quarterback in Tennessee if they can figure out a way to make it work contractually.”
Tannehill was statistically one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL last season following taking over for Marcus Mariota. It helped having Derrick Henry in the backfield, but the former Dolphins quarterback put up great numbers.
Tennessee could place the franchise tag on him, which they now have until Monday morning to do so.
