Even though it was the first day of NFL free agency on Wednesday, Nick Caserio had his eye on the draft.

According to DraftAnalyst.com's Tony Pauline, the Patriots' director of player personnel attended Wisconsin's pro day, specifically to see linebacker Jack Cichy and cornerback Nick Nelson.

When healthy, Cichy is one of the better linebackers in the entire draft, but is coming off a torn ACL, which forced him to miss the entire season. He also played in just seven games in 2016 because of a torn pectoral muscle. In 2015, he played in 12 games and finished with 32 tackles, eight going for loss, and five sacks.

Nelson transferred to Wisconsin after two years playing for Hawaii and finished 2017 with 21 pass deflections.

Both players are expected to be mid-to-late round picks.
