Odell Beckham Jr. admits he dreamt of playing for Patriots

Before Odell Beckham Jr. was traded by the Giants to the Browns, there was speculation he could be dealt to the Patriots.

It was furthered by Tom Brady interacting with him a bunch on social media and just the Patriots' need for a dominant receiver.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Beckham Jr. admitted he would have loved to join the Patriots with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

"I think two, three years ago there was a whole speculation and all that was going on and I was willing and ready to go over there at any point in time," Beckham said. "That was always a dream of mine to play for Tom Brady -- Tom Brady and Belichick. But for me when I said I want to turn this into the Patriots organization, one it's about winning, but it's about the way they go about it. How everything is precise and everything is just perfect. It feels good to win, it feels good to succeed and that's what I meant by wanting to be like them. I don't know how to be like them because I've never been over there, I've never experienced any of it.

"Tom and I talked for two or three years like, 'If it happens, it happens and it would be cool.' But now I'm with somebody who I think is going to be a guy who plays for however long he's going to play for. Right now it's about us establishing a connection and being a better team, just coming together."

The wide receiver is looking forward to seeing Belichick this Sunday for their usual pregame meet-up.

"He's a coach that I've looked at for the longest time and I have a love/hate relationship with him because they've beaten every and any team I ever wanted to win the Super Bowl," Beckham said. "The only team I ever followed was the Rams when they was the greatest show on turf and I was like, the team I was watching as a kid, loved them and you know so I was always rooting for them because I loved to see him succeed but I always wanted somebody to take him, so going against Bill Belichick, this is somebody that I have much respect for.

"I talked to him before and after the game, he tells me the same thing every single time, 'I hope you enjoy today because there's not going to be much for you.' And that's what he's told me and that's what he's done every single time. It's just tough. He's going to coach it up and they're going to be ready and prepared."

Beckham Jr.'s 2-4 Browns will take on the 7-0 Patriots this Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
