3 quick thoughts on LB Cassh Maluia, who Patriots selected in Round 6

The Patriots made three selections in Round 6 with the final coming at pick No. 204 overall.

With that pick, they selected Wyoming linebacker Cassh Maluia.

Given his skillset and being a sixth-round pick, he likely will be expected to contribute on special teams.

Here are three quick thoughts.

-- A three-year starter at Wyoming, he had his best year this past fall when he finished with 61 tackles, including seven for loss, and two interceptions. He was voted honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference.

-- As a junior, he did serve a one-game suspension following being arrested on charges of driving under the influence, underage alcohol consumption and driving without a driver's license in June of 2018.

-- His pro day was one of the few that wasn't cancelled due to COVID-19 and he was able to meet with the Patriots. He does have some speed, as he ran a 4.53-second time in the 40-yard dash.
