FOXBORO -- The Patriots held their first practice of the week Wednesday on the upper grass fields behind Gillette Stadium.
There were several players missing, including Rob Gronkowski, Sony Michel, Eric Rowe, Deatrich Wise and Marcus Cannon.
Gronkowski and Cannon missed last week's game against the Bears, while Michel suffered a knee injury in the win. Wise and Rowe were limited in the game and have been on the injury report with ankle/knee and groin injuries respectively. Gronkowski reportedly is expected to play Monday, while Michel's injury reportedly isn't considered a long-term thing.
Also, rookie cornerback Duke Dawson, who is currently on IR, returned to practice. He's first eligible to play Week 10 against the Titans.
The Patriots will play the Bills Monday night, so have three more practices.
It's worth noting there will be no injury report Wednesday. The first of the week will be Thursday.
