Patriots rookie linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley was placed on injured reserve Sept. 26 with an unknown injury, until now.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Bentley was placed on injured reserve with a torn biceps suffered in the loss to Detroit during Week 3. Bentley is eligible to be one of two players to come off IR and return this year, but it's unknown what the timeframe is for his recovery.
The report adds he's had surgery and he's staying involved with the team as he also focuses on his recovery and rehabilitation.
Despite being a rookie, Bentley was the Patriots' signal caller and recorded 14 tackles in three games.
