The Patriots' wide receiver position took another hit on Tuesday, as Cameron Meredith has been released.

The wide receiver signed a two-year deal over the summer and seemingly it was more for 2020, but it appears Meredith's knee injury did not improve any and the team was forced to move on.

Due to the knee injury, Meredith didn't play at all in 2017, and played just six games with the Saints last year. Meredith was on PUP with the Patriots.

Now, the only receiver who can come back this season is rookie N'Keal Harry, who is currently on injured reserve.

Also, the team has moved on from linebacker Scooby Wright, who was on the practice squad.
