It looks like the Patriots will need to find a new defensive coordinator.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Patriots are bracing for Matt Patricia to leave after the season, likely going to the Lions to take their head-coaching job. This was viewed as the best fit for Patricia. The Lions already have a good offensive staff in place and he has a good relationship with general manager Bob Quinn from his time in New England.
Of course, Patricia will finish the season with the Patriots and it is unlikely anything is made official until the Patriots are eliminated.
Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores is likely the top candidate to replace Patricia. He interviewed with the Cardinals for their head-coaching job on Saturday.
