The Patriots have three quarterbacks on their roster, but it seems like they're doing some due diligence in case of an emergency.
According to multiple reports, New England hosted third-year quarterback Christian Hackenberg for a visit on Thursday. The Raiders acquired him from the Jets in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick on May 22, but he was released earlier this week. It does not seem like a signing is imminent.
Hackenberg was drafted in the second round by the Jets in 2016, but hasn't yet appeared in a regular-season game.
