While not as big as Tuesday's trade, the Patriots made a small move on Wednesday.
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the Patriots have signed tight end Troy Niklas to a 1-year deal after he visited the team on Monday.
The tight end, who played at Notre Dame and was drafted by the Cardinals in the second round of the 2014 draft, finished last year with 11 catches for 132 yards and a touchdown in 15 games last year. It was his best season as a pro.
Niklas will battle for a roster spot during training camp and should be viewed as nothing more than a depth signing.
