The Patriots continue to make roster moves following the NFL Draft.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the team has told safety Obi Melifonwu he's being released.

The 26-year-old is very athletic, but just hasn't been able to stay on the field with any team after being drafted in the second round by the Raiders in 2017.

After being released by the Raiders in 2018, the Grafton, Massachusetts native signed a two-year deal with New England. Last year he was on the practice squad, but was injured for the majority of the season.

In all, he played in just two games with the Patriots.

With the Patriots adding Adrian Phillips and Kyle Dugger this offseason, there didn't appear to be a spot for Melifonwu.
