Patriots make couple of roster moves Saturday

Even though the Patriots were off Saturday, they still made a few rosters moves.

The team signed tight end Paul Quessenberry and defensive tackle Xavier Williams, and then released tight end Alex Ellis and defensive tackle Darius Kilgo.

New England has worked out Quessenberry and Williams over the last week.

Williams played for the Cardinals and Chiefs during his five-year career. With Kansas City last year he appeared in five games and had eight tackles. His best season came in 2018 when he had 47 tackles. Meanwhile, Quessenberry was a defensive end at Navy, but is now a tight end. He had a rookie tryout with the Texans in 2015, but then became an officer in the Marines. His brothers David and Scott are current NFL offensive linemen. He's not played in a game since 2014, his senior year.

The Patriots will be back on the field Sunday morning.
