Patriots reportedly hosted 2 players for workouts on Wednesday

This time of year teams have an eye for 2020, and with that comes workouts for players who potentially could be signed to futures contracts.

According to multiple reports, the Patriots had running back William Stanback and cornerback Marcus Sayles in workouts Wednesday. Both players are from the Canadian Football League.

Stanback spent the summer of 2017 with the Packers before being released and going to play in Canada beginning in the spring of 2018. He played in 14 regular-season games for the Montreal Alouettes this year, recording 170 carries for 1,093 rushing yards and five touchdowns, while adding 33 receptions for 329 yards.

Sayles has spent some time with the Bills and Rams before going to play in Canada starting in 2018. His Winnipeg Blue Bombers won the Grey Cup this season and he was a league All-Star.

The Patriots also have two practice squad spots open.
