FOXBOROUGH -- Less than 48 hours after being released by the Patriots, Brian Hoyer has a new home.
Hoyer has signed a three-year, $12 million deal that includes $9 million guaranteed with the Colts, according to multiple reports. It comes as no surprise the Colts were interested given the retirement of Andrew Luck and just Jacoby Brissett on the roster. The veteran backup should be a good influence on him. Also, getting three years and $9 million guaranteed is a great deal for the 33-year-old.
He did not play in the final two preseason games with the Patriots.
Meanwhile, the Patriots will be going with just two quarterbacks in Tom Brady and Jarrett Stidham, thus the reason for releasing Hoyer.
