A day after he was released by the Patriots, the quarterback turned wide receiver has been been claimed by the Falcons, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
"It's always hard to release a player," Bill Belichick said Wednesday when asked about the release.
Behind Matt Ryan at QB there's just Matt Schaub and Matt Simms, so perhaps he will go back to being a full-time quarterback.
Etling switched to wide receiver this summer and played just two offensive snap in the first preseason game against the Lions.
