One of the biggest players to be absent from Patriots training camp Thursday was new defensive end Michael Bennett, but it appears it's nothing to be concerned about.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, Bennett was excused from practice for personal reasons. It's unclear when he will join his teammates on the field.

Bennett did not report for OTAs, but did participate in all three minicamp sessions in early June. He was acquired in a trade with the Eagles this offseason.

David Andrews was the only other surprise player missing, but there's been no update on why.

The Patriots will be back on the practice field Friday morning.
